Soonthehatbegantofillup.Alotmorepeopleweregivingmoneytotheblindboy.Thatafternoonthemanwhohadchangedthesigncametoseehowthingswere.Theboyrecognizedhisfootstepsandasked,「Wereyoutheonewhochangedmysignthismorning?Whatdidyouwrite?」
Themansaid,「Ionlywrotethetruth.Isaidwhatyousaidbutinadifferentway.」

Ofcoursebothsignstoldpeopletheboywasblind.Butthefirstsignsimplytoldpeopletohelpbyputtingsomemoneyinthehat.Thesecondsigntoldpeoplethattheywereabletoenjoythebeautyoftheday,buttheboycouldnotenjoyitbecausehewasblind.

一個盲童坐在一幢樓前的台階上，他的腳邊放著一頂帽子，手裡舉著一塊牌子，牌子上寫著「我是盲人，請幫幫我」。
帽子裡只有幾枚硬幣。一個人經過這裡，從口袋裡掏出幾枚硬幣扔進帽中。然後，他拿過那塊牌子，把它翻過去，在上面寫了幾個字，又把牌子放了回去，這樣過路人都能看到他寫的字。
給盲童錢幣的人越來越多，帽子很快就滿了。當天下午，那個改寫盲童牌子的人又過來了，他想看看情況怎樣。盲童辨認出了他的腳步聲，便問：「你就是早上修改我的牌子的人吧？你寫的是什麼呢？」
這個人說：「我只是把事實寫了下來，把你所寫的內容換了一種表達方式。」
他寫的是：「今天是個好日子，我卻什麼都看不見。」
你是否認為第一塊牌子和第二塊牌子陳述的是一件事情呢？
當然，兩塊牌子都告訴人們這個男孩是個盲人。但前者只要求人們往帽子裡放錢來幫助他，而後者則告訴人們他們正在享受美好的日子，而作為盲人的他卻不能。
第一塊牌子只是說明男孩是盲人，第二塊則告訴人們他們擁有良好的視力很幸運。
我們至少可以從這個簡單的故事中得出兩點教訓：
第一，要對擁有的一切懷有感恩之心！或許有人比你擁有得更少，要盡力幫助那些需要幫助的人。
第二，要富於創造精神，全方位地考慮問題，終會發現好的解決辦法！
