每個人都喜歡陽光樂觀的人：他的笑臉就是萬能的護照，所有的大門都為他開啟；他能送走驕傲與妒忌，因為他賦予每一個人好心情；所有家庭像喜歡陽光一樣喜歡他。

在一次花展上，一個蒼白、瘦弱的小女孩兒奪得了第一名。她的家在倫敦東區一個擁擠、陰暗的庭院裡。評委問她如何能在這樣一個陰暗、缺少光照的地方，培育出如此美麗的花。小女孩的答案是：庭院內只有一縷陽光，每天早上只要太陽出來，她就讓花接觸這縷陽光，然後隨著光線的改變，不斷地挪動花盆，這樣，花就一整天都在陽光的照射下。
「水、空氣和陽光，是最有益於健康的三種能量，而且可以任意索取，觸手可及。」沃爾特·惠特曼說，「十二年前，我打算去坎登等待死亡。意想不到的事情發生了，因為每天在鄉村裡散步，在陽光裡沐浴，與鳥兒和松鼠為伴，在水中與魚兒嬉戲，這一切讓我精神煥發。大自然又讓我重新擁有了健康。」

太陽促使萬物生長，同時也展現著最令人快樂的影響，人們才得以精神煥發、心情愉悅。假如一個人心中擁有陽光，他就會踏上幸福之路：在壓力重重時也樂意向前看，就算有片刻沮喪，也不會喪失絲毫的精神力量或希望；不管自己現狀如何，都因所擁有的一切而驕傲；就算衣衫襤褸，也感激不已；不但自己快樂，也把快樂傳遞給他人。
